WasteAid Circular Economy Network Website design for a cleaner future
WasteAid is an independent UK charity (non-profit), set up by waste management professionals to share practical and low-cost waste management know-how with communities in low-income countries.
They had developed a website for their new Circular Economy initiative and contacted design studio Superfried as they required rapid help with its design. Focusing on three regions – India, Vietnam and South Africa – WasteAid were offering funding to help new companies with innovative solutions to waste management.
Analysing the existing site, it was clear there was a lot of information to convey. It was therefore important to keep it clean and content focused, but also add impact. Looking at the new identity that had been developed for the site revealed a strong secondary palette + great photography.
Simple application of the palette to the backgrounds created impact without affecting legibility. The photography was subsequently applied to annotate and break up the content. Additional bespoke icons and infographics were also developed to convey key, essential information.
Collaborating with their developer, page designs were tested thoroughly to ensure they worked responsively across all device break-points.
